Asscher Emerald: The Dazzling Choice of Rich Ladies

cultivated emerald

The Asscher cut, an octagonal square step cut, was created by Dutch polisher Joseph Asscher in 1902 and became famous in the Art Deco movement 20 years later.

Originally presented as a three-row top and three-row bottom step facet, the cut had 58 facets in total, providing greater sparkle than the traditional emerald cut while maintaining an understated grandeur.

In 1999, Joseph Asscher’s grandson Edward introduced the “Royal Asscher” cut, which increased the diamond’s brilliance and fire by increasing the number of facets to 74 and optimizing the pavilion design. This cut is only suitable for specific octahedral rough stones. Although it sacrifices about 15% of the rough stone weight, the finished product has a higher crown and better light reflection, showing more brilliant colors and brightness. Unlike the traditional Asscher cut, the Royal Asscher cut is patented and has strict requirements on production angles.

The Asscher cut is well-known in the jewelry industry for its unique history, craftsmanship and beauty. It combines the characteristics of the princess cut and the emerald cut, showing the exquisite clarity of the gemstone through the X-shaped gem table and trimmed corners. Created by the Asscher brothers in 1902, it is still an iconic element in jewelry design, especially represented by emeralds, which exude charming light. ✨✨

This 3-carat Asscher ring is exquisitely shaped and has a luxurious setting design, highlighting the noble elegance of the main stone and diamond. Whether it is worn as a daily wear or with formal occasions, it can add excellent temperament and taste to you.
