Its chemical composition and physical properties are the same as natural ones. Gemologists call this kind of emerald in the laboratory synthetic emerald or artificially cultured emerald.
Artificial emeralds can be certified by international authoritative certificates such as GRS, Gubelin, SSEF, Guild, etc., just like natural emeralds.
Solvent-grown synthetic emeralds
Synthetic emeralds grown by solvents have bright colors and no yellow-blue tones. They have more inclusions, typical feather-like inclusions, opaque silver-white platinum flakes with metallic luster and hexagonal columnar beryllium silicate inclusions, and some parallel bands and lines can be seen.
Hydrothermal synthetic emerald:
Hydrothermal synthetic emerald is the most commonly used method. This kind of emerald has good transparency and uniform color. It is slightly blue or yellowish green. When magnified, you can observe many small dots or spikes on a plane. These are spike-shaped inclusions. Hydrothermal synthetic emeralds can also see growth lines and color bands, most of which are parallel to the seed crystal.
Synthetic emerald-coated beryl This synthetic method is to put the polished light-colored beryl into the solvent of the hydrothermal synthesis method, so that a thick layer of emerald shell is attached to the surface to pretend to be natural emerald.
Cultivated emeralds are also pure, with cotton, and with cracks like natural emeralds. They are not for appreciation or inheritance. Buying cultivated emeralds is very cost-effective, and they are truly good value for money.
