Recently, the Tiffany jewelry brand announced that it has purchased the last customized batch of rare pink diamonds from the now closed Argyle Diamond Mine. The mine was one of the world’s most important sources of pink diamonds from 1983 to 2020.

Although the mine has been closed, a small number of unique pink diamonds were preserved during its operation, and these treasures were exclusively available to Tiffany in early 2022. This collaboration marks the first time that Tiffany has launched a customized series under the name of a jewelry brand, further highlighting its influence in the field of rare gemstones and luxury goods.
Victoria Wells, Tiffany’s chief gemologist, revealed that the batch of 35 Argyle pink diamonds presents the many colors that the mine is famous for, including rich pink, purple pink, and even a rare red. The preciousness of each diamond is not only reflected in its rarity, but also in line with Tiffany’s firm commitment to its original intention, and the brand will share the mining process of these diamonds with customers.
To celebrate this important milestone, Tiffany will showcase these pink diamonds to select customers at the upcoming International High Jewelry Show. In addition, Tiffany plans to launch a special jewelry collection to fully showcase the unique charm of these rare pink diamonds, and may also incorporate them into future Blue Book high jewelry collections.
It is worth noting that these pink diamonds from the Argyle mine have undergone a formation process of up to 1.5 billion years. Now, they have been given a new life and will show their unique brilliance through Tiffany’s exquisite craftsmanship. Although these pink diamonds usually weigh less than 1 carat, three of them are over 1 carat, making them truly rare treasures due to their precious properties.
